The Audacity of Stupid: From Abigail to Jezebel, Navigating Toxic Relationships is your brutally honest, laugh-out-loud guide to spotting—and surviving—the emotional minefield of toxic relationships. Whether it’s your narcissistic ex, a gaslighting spouse, or the foolishness we excuse in politics and everyday life, this book pulls no punches.

Through a unique blend of biblical stories, modern-day parables, and satirical commentary, Carla Henry-Lewis, author of the Stress Makeover Series, exposes the patterns of emotional manipulation, codependency, and self-sabotage we often overlook. She shows readers how women like Abigail thrived despite stupidity and how others, like Jezebel, fueled it. This isn’t just another relationship advice book—it’s a mirror, a megaphone, and a survival manual.

Perfect for women ages 30–60 who are tired of second-guessing their worth and choices, this faith-based, emotionally intelligent, and empowering book helps you:

Recognize narcissistic and emotionally unavailable partners
Break free from toxic patterns
Reclaim your voice and sanity
Laugh through the absurdity of dysfunction
Heal using faith, humor, and the power of choice

Whether you’re single, married, or somewhere in between, The Audacity of Stupid will have you nodding, laughing, and rethinking every “bless his heart” moment you’ve ever lived through.

This book was very relatable. The author discussed Biblical examples but also gave present day examples. She was funny and practical. I laughed out loud many times, but then found myself saying, yes, that’s it! I wrote down many quotable sayings that I will keep as a reference. I highly recommend this short but sweet book.

Great tips!

As a woman who wears many hats, I could truly identify with this book. I’m so grateful to know that I am not alone in my experiences. Through the women in these pages, I saw pieces of myself — once or twice, maybe even more.

Carla Henry-Lewis skillfully uses biblical figures such as Abigail and Jezebel alongside modern examples to guide women through the difficult journey of recognizing and breaking free from toxic, narcissistic, and emotionally unavailable relationships. Her words offer both conviction and comfort, reminding us that healing begins with self-awareness and courage.

To be a woman is no easy task, and this book reminded me that it’s okay to cut myself some slack and embrace grace. It’s more than a book — it’s a mirror, a map, and a ministry all in one.

Thank you, Carla, for allowing God to inspire and use your wildly creative mind to pour wisdom into women who need it most. Well done!
