Jenna McClure is thirty-two, single, and all too aware of her ticking biological clock. These circumstances bring her to a local Eugene, Oregon, fertility clinic - and the immediate attention of Dr. Elizabeth Demauer, a brilliant geneticist.
In Elizabeth, Jenna sees her best chance to conceive a child. But in Jenna’s unmistakable resemblance - and healthy body - Elizabeth sees much more: the sister she never knew existed, the perfect vessel for motherhood, and the chance to finally have the child she desperately craves.
Suddenly kidnapped, drugged, and imprisoned, Jenna finds herself at the mercy of a woman obsessed and the rogue doctor and charismatic cult leader who will do anything to please his lover. But there’s a man in Jenna’s life who is just as devoted - and even more determined.
Now, as relentless reporter Eric Troutman risks his life for the woman he loves, her desperate captors’ “victimless crime” threatens to become anything but.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
No, too unrealistic the writer asked us to believe too much. What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?
The fact that I was halfway through the book when it occurred to me it had to be fiction. What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
The reader was okay, and tolerable.Any additional comments?
I thought this was a book set in 1950's on a woman who stole babies for the elite, it def wasn't!Should have paid closer attention this is fiction

I also felt that the author of the story made no attempt at revealing what a twisted concept of religion it was portraying. I suspect that the doctor/reverend was supposed to be Christian. For those unacquainted with true Biblical teaching, I am concerned that the story perpetuates a common distortion of the truth, and a mockery of religious teaching. You may see it otherwise. This story, for me, was akin to Branch Dividians meet reproductive science wacko complete with love quadrangle!
Just OK
