Even though I have been trying various mindfulness practices for the better part of last year, I was mostly doing it just because it is highly recommended in the self-help community. I had only tried out guided meditations and breathwork previously. This book opened my eyes to more types of meditation and that it doesn't just need to strictly be sitting down cross-legged like most people imagine. You can also practice mindfulness in more active practices like while walking, you can be mindful in the everyday actions of life and even during yoga and tai-chi.

I was pleasantly surprised that it can reduce stress, which improves longevity in all aspects of your health. It also increases the amount of grey matter in the brain and reduces the part of your brain that makes rash and emotional decisions. I knew that meditation and mindfulness was important but this book helped me realize it that much more. The benefits are vast and I highly recommend that everyone listen to this book to learn about meditation as it is becoming increasingly crucial in today's day and age of short-form media and instant gratification.
