Award-winning journalist and ESPN personality Mike Lupica crafts a moving novel about baseball, sacrifice, and father/son relationships.

Hutch has always played shortstop. His idol Derek Jeter, plays the position, and more importantly, so did his father. But when a better shortstop joins the team, Hutch must move to second base. With his father's shadow looming and the championship on the line, Hutch will need to make the adjustment quickly.

This was a book my 8 year old and I enjoyed together. I would think that this book would typically of interest to older kids and adults who enjoy baseball. My right year old is obsessed with sports and was completely absorbed. Very glad I purchased. Naration was great.

Great book to listen to with my 8 year old

loved the book. Seemed to always have a educated moment. Liked how evry chapter brought a new struggle or indifference to the plate.

never a dull moment

We love this book. So relatable for my middle infielder living in south Florida! This was our first audiobook too and we couldn’t wait to get in the car and find out what happened next.

My kids were hooked!

the narrating of this book was really good. very clear voice and made that book exciting, however I can't stand the message that this book was trying to get across. the father and son never hashed out the problems they were having and it felt like the dad cared more about another kid on the field then his own son. the mom was just playing peace maker between the father and son. I wish it would have had more heart to heart between the father and son. It felt like the son just had to realize that his dad just showing up to the game is the best he will ever get. why didn't the dad give him any pointers on how to play baseball. not once in this book did the father ever acknowledge his son's feeling and try to make an effort to make things right. this is just a terrible book all around.

what a sham
