Enter a world haunted by demons, black magic, and werewolves.

Demetrius the mage resides in the heart of the remnants of the Roman Empire, in a world slowly being engulfed by barbarians.

One day, he is approached by men from the borders of the empire, who tell of a werewolf stalking their realm. “Across the Danube, in Severin, they speak of the Black Wolf, a creature that comes from the forest at night, breaks into homes, and devours families in their beds. They say it’s been killing for decades.”

Recently deprived of his bodyguard, who quit after a particularly harrowing exorcism, Demetrius must take on a new, untested protégé, to protect him in the dangerous lands on the fringes of civilization.
