The Blame

“You are both eighteen, so we do not have to notify your parents about this. You each have the choice or a suspension of five days, or swats of the paddle. “

Those were the words of Principal James Hardy.

And that was the beginning of a most extraordinary late afternoon and evening for a pair of 18-year-old high school seniors, soon to graduate.

Tonya Hammonds and Jerry Powell were classmates but barely knew each other. But today, that all changed when the flirtatious and cute Tonya had talked Jerry into driving her to a store before the school day was over. And it got more interesting when she pulled a trial size bottle of bourbon from her purse inside his car, causing it to be spilled on all over both of them when Jerry had to stop suddenly to avoid an accident. \\

And as luck would have it, a teacher spotted them inside the car working feverishly to cope with the spilled bourbon.

Now Tonya had talked Jerry into breaking school policy, to say nothing of the bourbon.

Jerry had never been in trouble before. Tonya had an interesting disciplinary record.

Now the two of them had long the choice of a suspension or corporal punishment. And as they sat in the office full of anxiety, they had no clue as to how this strange series of events was going to alter their lives.
