All Ion Jacobs ever wanted was to be normal. But when you’re capable of killing with your very thoughts, it’s hard to blend in with the crowd.

Running from his past and living in fear of being discovered, Ion knows he will never be an average college student. But when Hawk, the beautiful, mysterious girl next door unearths his darkest secret, Ion’s life is flipped upside-down. He’s shocked to discover a whole world of people just like him; a world in another dimension, where things like levitation, shape-shifting, and immortality are not only possible, they’re normal.

Forced to keep more secrets than ever before, Ion struggles to control his powers in the real world while commuting between realms...until his arch enemy starts a fight he can’t escape. Now, he has sealed the fate of the Dimension, severing their connection to the real world, and locking himself inside forever. But a deadly threat hidden in plain sight may cost Ion more than just his freedom; It may cost him his life.

Abbie's first book, 100 Days of (Sunshine or Sunlight) was 5 stars,a sweet, engrossing romance. This gets bogged down in description and is nearly purple in spots. Both characters narrate with 1001 gazes. They gaze as a noun. Their gazes burn and shoot and meet. They both gaze as a verb. There is a lot of gazing. Both characters end up sounding the same. One should gaze. The other could look or check out. Since they are born 100 years apart, Hawk should sound like she is from the 20th century. But the similarity and all the gazing, takes me out of the story. Surely an editor would have caught these things? Or maybe this book was edited by a different person? Whatever it is, I think the story and world were thought out with tremendous care.

The male narrator ra8ses the pitch of his voice for female quotes. It makes the female characters sound like Keye and Peele's, Meegan.

Good but needed another edit

did not really like the back and forth bantering. did not like the fact that Noone in the story could honestly tell the truth about themselves or about each other. book reminds me of a cheap made tv drama series.

drama for kids

this book was fabulous. the story was well thought out, the characters were dynamic and alive, and I couldn't help but root for them. the plot and world building was spectacular and OMG I can't get the next book fast enough! the ending cliff hanger was to die for... won't spoil anything but I want to. the only thing was the voice acting could get a little annoying at times. it wasn't really the fault of the actors, but I think the casting could have fit the characters a little better?

gripping, I couldn't put it down

Loved the narrators in this book. I’m glad I stuck with it as I had a hard time getting into it at first but so worth it. I’ll definitely be picking up book two.

Great book and narration
