Second chance romance after school girl crush

I was expecting a sexy protector romance but got a decent second chance romance for a picked-on curvy girl who pulled herself up with grit and grace and made something of herself. Sheriff Garrett was less of a gem, jaded and convinced a happily ever after wasn’t for him.

There’s a full hour taking us through high school and up to the present with Bryn returning home at 23, and then a sweet forced proximity plot with the stalker plot only factoring in at the end. Based on the cover art and summary, I was expecting more fire, action, and confident sex. I’d say a pastel cover with a young man in a sheriff’s uniform would have fit the tone better.

Duet narration would have been better, especially with Mr. Toma’s cringey voice for Bryn and Ms. Firth’s cringey sex sounds. Nonetheless, I enjoyed most of their voicing.
