What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

The endless credits-garbage (all for one guy) are done with great emotion and production values, but are endless and garbage. After that, the 5 minutes of actual content was mediocre and overdone. Just silly overacting. Really, this was not redeemable except by ditching the garbage at BOTH ENDS, as if the credits need to be repeated verbetim AT BOTH ENDS!

Has The Book turned you off from other books in this genre?

No.

How could the performance have been better?

The producer could have made a straight reading as opposed to a long commercial for their website.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Book?

I would cut the credits.

Any additional comments?

This was the worst thing I have ever gotten from Audible.com.

Any additional comments?

Never trust an audiobook with electronic music in the background. The original story by Lovecraft is only 10 minutes long but, with the introduction, weird starting and ending music and detailed credits, it is dragged out to a whopping 14 minutes.Rough analogy: you order a 'small dinner salad' and you get a small dinner salad topped with pineapple chunks, whipped cream, chocolate sprinkles, and liver chunks. yecch!

Lovecraft smothered in bad production
