Fantastic story and amazing voice acting

I would Highly recommend this title and reading. I was equally impressed with the story and the telling .

You need a bigger story? Here it is!

While the original Jaws novel by Peter Benchley may have inspired the greatest film ever made, unfortunately, it still reads like pulp mediocrity. It is no wonder Steven Spielberg and Carl Gottlieb had to make daily modifications to keep turning that straw into gold. Ryan Dacko may be a new author, but his research on the original film as well as the detective work he’s done expanding and enhancing the backstory of Quint, Vaughan, and even Amity Island itself, conveys a love and devotion to the subject matter setting up a near perfect prequel that consistently rings true to the 1975 film source material. I had already read the book when it was released in 2024 but am happy to say the audiobook performance by Jonathan Waters brings an atmosphere and depth that improves upon the written word. His character voices – especially of Quint, create vivid images in the listeners mind of a young Robert Shaw brought back to life and again inhabiting this classic character. In short, if you are a Jaws fan (and really, who isn’t?), this is a must read, and when I revisit, it will always be with this audio version. Congratulations Mr. Dacko and thank you! It is well worth the credit and hoping someday, Mr. Spielberg will be inspired by this story to revisit Amity Island once again and give the fans at least one worthy companion piece to the classic original.

Quint comes back to life in this amazing prequel to Jaws! Highly recommended. You won’t be disappointed.

Excellent backstory! Narrators voices are AWESOME!

The immersion and details of the story of this iconic character are perfect! One of the few audiobooks that I actually wanted to keep listening to! Jonathan Waters does an EXCELLENT Quint impression! 100% Worth the listen!

It’s canonical for me now. Tremendous prequel.

“Quint” fits perfectly into the narrative of JAWS and gives amazing depth to a great character. Highly recommend!
