What did I do when I found out my new boss was my ex from college? I almost chucked my new career out the window, that’s what.

He broke my trust in college when he broke my heart. We had a terrible breakup that gave me trust issues for life. Now, I am alone in the big city and rich, sexy Kit’s is the only familiar face in town. And he seems to be interested in relighting the flames of our relationship.

Even though my mind tells me to run away, my heart tells me to stay. People can change. Right? Doesn’t everyone deserve a second chance?

Kit is determined to do everything in his power to win me back. With our past breakup looming large in my mind, it’s not going to be easy.

Will our past and my inability to trust, drive us apart?

I wish I could leave a good review, but I just can't. The story was good, but as with many short stories, it lacked any depth. There was little-to-no emotion. This was not helped by the narrator. He didn't "perform" the book. He read it in a monotone. There was no voice change from one character to the other, which made it hard to keep up with who was speaking. I listened until the end because it was only 52 minutes long, but I can't say I enjoyed any of it.

the story had a good base but no character development, story line moved too fast. I guess that is a drawback of a short book. Makes it hard to get invested in the characters and what happens to them.
As for the narrator some advice, not sure how long you have been doing this but try adding some emotion into your reading. Also change the voices of male and female characters helps. When you read in a monotone it makes it hard to finish listening.
