When a shy high school student’s body is found washed up on the shore of a quiet New England beach town–an alleged suicide linked to steroids–fifteen-year-old boxer-in-training Terry Novak isn’t quite sure what to think. Something just doesn’t add up. Artsy and withdrawn, Jason wasn’t exactly the type to be doing ’roids.

So Terry, with the help of his friend Abby, decides to do some investigating of his own. It doesn’t take long, though, before they learn that asking questions puts them in grave danger and that survival is going to be a fight.

Fortunately, Terry has learned a thing or two about fighting.

Robert B Parker‘s literary style is superb. His vocabulary is amazing and his presentation is flawless.

I absolutely love that his characters are honorable
Also, that you do not have to have filthy language and bare body parts in order to have an amazing story.
I am incredibly sad that he has passed away, but he has left us an amazing legacy

great teen book

The Boxer and the Spy is currently riveting the attention of 2 "mature" adults as we are driving, but we think it would also be an excellent book for teens. We love all of Robert B. Parker's books for the quality of the prose as well as enticing story lines.

Very Good Story

Though pretty short it was a great story. Solid story and characters. The voice actor was outstanding and when I finish here I’m going to go and find some of his other work.
Overall I think you will enjoy this book and I will give it two thumbs up.

Good book for Teens+

I would NOT recommend this for grade 3-5 like audible says. Lots of talk of gays, the word sex and sexual innuendo, and steroids. I started listening with my 3rd grader and quickly stopped. But I'm enjoying the story as I listen by myself.
