When a young troll named Hawthorn is stolen from Fairyland by the Golden Wind, he becomes a changeling - a human boy - in the strange city of Chicago, a place no less bizarre and magical than Fairyland when seen through trollish eyes. Left with a human family, Hawthorn struggles with his troll nature and his changeling fate. But when he turns 12, he stumbles upon a way back home, to a Fairyland much changed from the one he remembers. Hawthorn finds himself at the center of a changeling revolution - until he comes face to face with a beautiful young Scientiste with a very big, very red assistant.

I'm surprised this book is not a runaway hit like the Harry Potter series. It's smart, The characters are deep and colorful . The setting is fantastic and fertile, the language is entrancing and rich. I can't wait to hear/ read more.

Very very clever

A beautiful story that reads like true poetry. A fairytale for the young and young at heart.

"All hail September!"

A wonderful story especially if you live in Chicago. The narrator was wonderful. Much better than the author. Whoever coordinates the audiobook recordings should not let her narrate her own stories ever again! She sounds like an awful mix of a millenial and a valley girl.

great narrator
