Critic reviews

A super-fun story about friendship, community and having exciting adventures. (The Week Junior’s Children’s Book of the Week)
A great story of developing young friendships, delving into some of the issues children of this age group may be facing, and helping them find the tools they need to grow with confidence. (The Liverpool Echo Children's Book of the Week)
The third title in the Marcus Rashford Book Club marks the fiction debut of the international footballer and food poverty campaigner himself, as a group of self-styled Breakfast Club Investigators take the twelve-year-old Marcus under their wing.
if there’s ever a book likely to encourage football fans to pick up a book, this is it!

I was first aware of this book, because Ted was reading it to his son Henry in the third season of Apple TV’s Ted Lasso. (I generally follow up on books mentioned in that show.)
I remember what it was like in school, how I felt individual and alienated with few friends. I identified with each of the characters in the Breakfast Club book in various ways. And was gratified when the Breakfast Club Investigators found and followed up on clues, and gained answers and friends who helped solve the riddle of all the students’ lost objects. I very much enjoyed this story and this presentation as an audio book.
