An arranged marriage leads to passionate love in this classic Scottish historical romance from #1 New York Times bestselling author Julie Garwood.

By edict of the king, the mighty Scottish laird Alec Kincaid must take an English bride. His choice is Jamie, youngest daughter of Baron Jamison - a feisty, violet-eyed beauty. Alec aches to touch her, to tame her, to possess her...forever. But Jamie has vowed never to surrender to a man she considers a highland barbarian.

Alec is everything Jamie’s heart has warned her against - an arrogant scoundrel whose rough good looks speak of savage pleasures. While Kincaid’s scorching kisses set fire to her blood, she is determined to resist him...until one rapturous moment quells their clash of wills, and something far more dangerous than desire threatens to conquer her senses...

A light enjoyable read/listen. Some of the dialect, etc. is a little far-fetched for the time period, but I found myself smiling a lot, and even laughed out loud. Likeable characters, and great performance by Rosalyn Landor.

In my opinion it would be a better fit under "fantasy", but whether a true depiction of the time era, or not, it was entertaining.

Rosalyn Landor was the perfect choice to narrate this book.

I would recommend it.

Funny--Entertaining!

What does Rosalyn Landor bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Oh my goodness everything!!! she just brought the book to life, loved her accent! I will be looking for more books read by her.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Made me laugh several times, enjoyed it to the fullest!!

Any additional comments?

the sexual parts were too discriptive, would have perferred there be something left to the imagination instead of going in to such detail that was the only thing I didn't like

Loved the narration!!!!
