Wendy Roberts was considered an old maid because she was in her thirties and hadn't married yet. She didn't let it bother her because she was happy, owned her own condo, and she and her Westie, Missy, loved spending as much time as possible with each other. She worked from home where she did data entry for one of the local hospitals in her area and felt fortunate to be making a good income.

Each Thursday she left her home for a few hours to attend a weekly staff meeting at the hospital. On her way into the hospital one rainy Thursday morning, she slipped on the wet floor and before she knew it, she had fallen on the floor. In the process of trying to get up, an extremely handsome doctor came to her aid. The way they looked at each other made her wonder if it was possible to fall in love at first sight. He was kind and considerate and had the bluest eyes she had ever looked into. She would never forget his tender concern for her...and for the first time in her life, she wished she could be married...to him!
