Wonderful mystery

This is a great beginning to a new series! The characters are wonderful. The mystery is cracking. The narrator does a wonderful job.

Interesting Whodunit

I’m surprised the rating on this book is not a little higher. I have read hundreds of detective stories and found this one at least on par with most. Antony Ferguson does a great job narrating and the story line is interesting and held my attention. Will read another by the author.

Pretty good for a 'village mystery...'

This was fine... characters well-drawn, the crime puzzling and how it was unraveled kept you interested.

Excellently written British detective yarn from the Golden Age.

Loved the characters’ descriptions. Bellairs was a brilliant writer who deserves more attention. Recommend all his books. Good narration.

A long forgotten writer that is better than most wtiting detective fiction today. Happy these are being published again
