St. Francis worked hard at evangelizing Calvinist Protestants to return to the Catholic faith. However, they were afraid of the backlash, and so, St. Francis wrote pamphlets and slipped them under doors and posted them on walls. After four years of his efforts, more than 70,000 people had returned to the faith. These pamphlets were compiled into this book, which remains one of the best sources for defending the Catholic faith.

Greatest work on Catholic apologetic I've ever read. Highly recommend to Catholics and non-catholics alike

St Francis de Sales does a fantastic job of beating down all the arguments of the Protestant revolt using Faith and reason, Sacred Scripture and ancient Tradition. He defends and upholds the One True Church established by Christ Himself brilliantly.

Brilliant!

St. Francis clearly and logically dismantles Protestantism though scripture and also defends the Church’s teachings with scripture. Best Catholic apology written since the so called reformation.

Ultimate apologetic against Protestantism

the writings are excellent, as is to be expected from a Doctor of the Church. St. Francis de Sales met the challenge of his day, and this material is no less relevant today. i would kindly challenge any Protestant to hear him out, if only the first three chapters. i would encourage any Catholic to learn from him as well.

the narrator's performance wasn't the best. the delivery seemed somewhat unnatural or unfitting to the work, and certain pronunciation errors occurred with regularity.

overall, if audio format is preferred, then i definitely recommend this. sound Catholic apologetics in the winning style of St. Francis.

Excellent Book, Less-than-Excellent Narration
