2097. Riley Taylor has been reunited with her best friend, Alex, but he no longer remembers who he is.

After many months pretending to be someone else, Riley is devastated to learn that Alex has been brainwashed, and his new mission is to kill her; it is only her fake identity that is saving her from his wrath.

The sadistic leader of the Champions, Damien, is finally dead, but his violent orders to his following Champions still remain, putting both Riley and Alex in constant peril. Will Riley survive if Alex finds out the truth about her? And can he handle learning the truth about himself?

Riley/Audrey is delusional most of this story. Odd because I saw no evidence of it in previous books in this series.
So hard to get through first half. But it ended well.

Good listening!

Yeah… I’ll admit this is the book that can be skipped in the series. That’s not to say it’s not a good book… because it is. It just isn’t on the same level as the other books and there is a lot of emotional turmoil going on for Riley/Audrey. It’s cool to see representation of mental health in books but in this case I think that it was just filler lol. Skip it if you want (you won’t miss much) read it if you want (you’ll understand the protagonist a bit better)

Meh

Although I enjoyed this book, I was not as impressed with this book as the previous books. The mental health issues lasted way too long and made the main character too weak for too long. I understand your main character having struggles but this one struggled too much. I look forward to the next book in the series and hope that Riley bounces back. I struggled to finish this book.

Not the best of the series

This one wasn't as fun as the previous ones but still captivating enough to cultivate the desire for more. Onward! to the last book!

Not the best is the series but a welcomed addition

At first I didn't understand the beginning. I realized that everything that had happened to Riley had actually broken her. Her mental health and delusional visions were actually very realistic.
Rileys struggle to get back to reality and recognize the severe panic attacks made her stronger and less wreckless. I ended up loving the book. The narrator was spot on and the storyline very believable.
