Thirteen years have passed since Ivy was born, and during that time the world has become a much darker, dangerous place. Not only have the Changed become more aggressive, numerous, and insane, but they are now joined by a mysterious and powerful being that has come from seemingly nowhere with the sole purpose of hunting Ivy down. It is not alone: a strange alien menagerie of creatures have started scouring the planet, cleansing it of any kind of life, a force far deadlier than the Changed have ever been.

As they close in on Ivy and her step-mother, (and Ivy's best friend, the canine Maxx), the truth about the Changed will begin to unravel - and love will be found in the most unlikely of places.
