Candy

Christmas is my favorite time of year—lights, cookies, carols, the whole deal. I never imagined it would also land me in the middle of an office scandal. Thanks to my best friend signing me up for a “Christmas Waffle” charity auction, I end up on stage, mortified… and bought for thirty-five thousand dollars. By my boss.

Asher Monroe is supposed to be untouchable—New York’s most eligible bachelor, brilliant CEO, and way out of my league. One date was all it was meant to be. But snowstorms, stolen kisses, and late-night confessions blur every professional line I swore I’d never cross.

Asher

I don’t lose control. Not in the boardroom. Not in life. Until Candy Hart, my assistant with the pink hair and sass I can’t ignore walks straight into my carefully ordered world. Buying her at the auction was reckless. Keeping her close is dangerous. Because the more time we spend together, the harder it is to remember that office romances are forbidden.

But Christmas has a way of rewriting the rules. And Candy? She might just be the best risk I’ve ever taken.

This was a great listen. The Christmas Waffle by Juliette McKinley had a nice storyline and kept my attention from beginning to end. In my opinion, a narrator can make or break a book, and Jessie Alans did a great job bringing the story to life.

The Christmas Waffle doesn't pretend its characters are perfect, and that's exactly what makes it work. They're messy, a little frustrating, and completely real — which makes every heartache land and every happy moment feel earned. The banter is sharp, the spice is there when you want it, and the narration keeps the whole thing moving at a pace that never drags. A cozy, fun listen you can sink into without overthinking it.

Flawed, and funny
