Dennis Dogmore (the spitting image of Eric Morecambe) is a neurotic, funeral-obsessed hypochondriac whose Southend-on-Sea parlour hasn’t seen a corpse in weeks. His love life is lifeless, his confidence is six feet under, and Fenella—the woman of his dreams—would rather tango with literally anyone else.

Enter Miss Miftley Wade: a razor-sharp, possibly unhinged scientist from ninety-four years in the future, with a time machine held together by wishful thinking and chewing gum. Throw in a Wiccan aristocratic curse, an unfortunate detour to the past, and the constant threat of a terrible, preordained death, and suddenly Dennis has a very full calendar.

Together, they must dodge hexes, time loops, and inappropriate dance routines if Dennis is ever to find love, avoid his fate, and maybe just—finally—get a client.
