With two weeks in a new home, and a solved murder, under their belt, Irene and Joe are eager for another mystery. When Eddy brings them a curious case involving a jumbled circular message, they jump in with both feet. But as they attempt to crack the cipher, they uncover a dark past of a seemingly innocent young woman and a cover-up that may put them both in grave danger.

Fast paced, to break a code, where Irene Homes and Joe Watson find that they have to rush into danger to protect their client.

This is another great entry in this series! It is different, yet true to the original in so many ways. These stories are extremely well thought out. This Holmes is exactly how I would picture Sherlock's daughter, and Watson is wonderful as his own person. Fantastic.

Interesting, great take on Holmes and Watson

Thanks to MX publishing for a free audio version. At first, I wasn’t sure about this as I generally like pastiches with the “original” Holmes and Watson as characters. However, Irene and Joe grew on me,though she’s irritatingly rude at times )which lends realism) and he’s too passive (he says he’s good at solving puzzles yet does little to help decipher a cryptic message). The writing and plotting are well done, and I do enjoy Jacqueline de Boer’s excellent narration which I’ve heard in other MX books. I’ll try more of the series and look forward to Irene and Joe’s character development.

A promising Holmes inspired series
