Building off the framework of Schultheis' The Coffeehouse Investor philosophy, this book will instill the common man and woman with the confidence to take control over their long-term financial goals and journey toward financial freedom in retirement. The Coffeehouse Investor's Ground Rules encourages listeners to ignore stock market "rules" and "perfect portfolio" pursuits to focus on the only three essential components to long-term financial security: saving, investing, and planning. Each component will be further broken down and explained through topics such as:

  • How to save money with confidence
  • The benefit of saving a little
  • Why women should invest in their financial destiny
  • The problem with underestimating your own financial abilities

Very interesting book, simple & convincing. it convinced me really to plan for a stock investment.

Very fun to Listen

I don't know how the 1998 version of the book was like but this is a pile of hippie, leftist drivel about "global community", cosmic energy, equity and collectivism.
WEF pamphlet sprinkled with two interesting chapters on how stock market works and very very cursory guidance on actual financial planning. It's a post COVID scared person's guide to escapism and how ETF and index funds help minimize anxiety.

Disappointed despite the charming persona of the author and delightful anecdotes.

engaging and simple to understand. made for the average person to apply to their life. mostly philosophical but im sure actual book of first one is more hands on.

great

all the “energy of the universe” silliness. The rest of the advice is solid. A person can have financial success without many of the complications the financial service industry promotes.

Lacking golden nuggets or practical. I believe that there are better investment and financial books out there. The seem too basic to be helpful.
