The Compound

The US Government secretly destroyed Russia's Nord Stream pipeline and now 367 of Russia's SS25 nuclear warheads are missing. Tom Sullivan is the CIA's top senior satellite image analyst and had just received satellite images showing that the nuclear warheads are not where they should be. Tom rushes to get his family and to warn his three best friends that WWIII is about to start and they must get their families to the safety of The Compound. Thirty minutes after entering the compound Russia fired their nuclear warheads and the world began it's decent into hell and the residents of Steelville began their new life underground. The Compound was built to hold 19 people and had all the modern conveniences of the world topside but the 19 residents of Steelville did not realize the world as they knew it no longer existed and that what was left of mankind had become maneaters. They would soon realize they were on the menu and the fight for survival would really begin.

Amazing

Awesome book with such great characters and the plot was superb from start to finish. Can’t wait to read more.

it's a great survival story

loved the story it's got a lot of action. I will listen to his next beta audio book.

Couldn't get into it

I really tried to like it, and kept listening long after I decided it wasn't worth it in hopes it would improve. It didn't. The story premise seemed good, but I was immediately turned off by the author's insertion of politics (democrats/left agenda bad, big oil/$ good) at the very beginning. I shrugged it off, but should have taken it as a sign. After only a very cursory introduction of the characters, and being given very little background as to what precipitated their descent into the underground bunker beyond the obvious, it was impossible to even care about what happened to any of them, as we never really got to know them. Superficial things like the going on and on about the exorbitant cost of this or that, repeatedly remarking on how jealous the other women are about how beautiful one of the female characters is (she was a beauty pageant winner), and how hot some of the girls find one of the young men when he takes off his shirt for a swim - Ugh! And it was so weird how nobody seemed concerned that the whole rest of the world was probably dead! I'm done. Oh, and the narration was awful. Made it halfway.
