Becalmed in the backwater Phall system, the Imperial Fists' relief fleet originally headed for Isstvan III has been waiting out the warp storms that waylaid them so many months ago.

Under the assumed command of Captain Alexis Polux and seemingly forgotten by the rest of the Imperium, they hope yet to complete their mission and report back to their primarch Rogal Dorn, so that they might return to the greater conflict.

But destiny calls as old rivalries are rekindled, and the treacherous Iron Warriors await their moment to strike - the feud between Dorn and his wayward brother Perturabo promises now to erupt into open war.

A very nicely written novella. Riveting story both in its action and intrigue. The first person perspective makes Captain Pollux very relatable, even though he's a giant superhuman among giant superhumans.

Awesome!

John French really shows off his knowledge about the seventh legion here. The book captures the essence of the legion and their stoic nature, while still maintaining its appeal to people if they aren't super familiar with the Fists, or are just looking for another listen. It also has a short portion about the recruitment process on Inwit which was interesting

A good Imperial Fists story

I liked the book, good plot, wish there was more about the fighting between the two legions. as well I was very disappointed with the background and character that was created for aluxis Polix. seemed so weak

anti climatic
