When a food critic chokes on a traditional baby trinket in Juliet Vance's King Cake, she loses her dream job as a pastry chef in the French Quarter and finds herself thrust into a supernatural adventure to find a long lost treasure. Forced to team up with the infamous buccaneer Jean Lafitte, the Terror of the Gulf Coast, the two must search the haunted streets of New Orleans and enlist help from local ghostly legends in order to break the centuries-old curse on the treasure.

With a fortnight to find the jewels and break the curse, Juliet must decide if she can trust the pirate and join his quest before the clock runs out.

If you enjoyed the Pirates of the Caribbean series or Fine Spirits Served Here, you'll love this thrilling adventure set in the mysterious streets of The Big Easy.

The narrators did an amazing job telling the story of Jean Lafitte the Pirate in present day New Orleans. They hit the right tones, accents, and pronunciations. Makes me want to go to the Big Easy!

What a fun story to listen to!

One of the highlights of my life is being close friends and obvious admirers of the audiobook narrators Lexi Evans and Logan Anare. I HAVE hired them for several of my works for a reason. I recall them telling me how much fun they had researching the land of beignets, jazz, and voodoo. It definitely showed in their performances, which is refreshing and engaging in a work so clearly in a location close to the author.
The story itself was cute. Jewels and our captain have fun interactions and the mystery that ends up being a tour for this fair city home to see many specters was a fun way for a modern adventure.
