Ford Atticus Ford, former lead ghost hunter on the hit paranormal reality show Graveyard: Classified, has more than a few regrets - especially after young Chelsea Hopper was attacked by a demon . . . on live television.

Assisting police departments by conducting paranormal investigations and uncovering buried clues now provides him with an ounce of redemption, but it will never be enough.

What occurred on that long-ago Halloween night was unforgivable, and Ford, chasing ratings and stardom, let it happen.

With Graveyard cancelled and his reputation destroyed, Ford sets out to avenge little Chelsea, and save his own soul - if he can.

First off, the narration by Daniel Thomas May is an absolute compliment to the novel! His creepy Right Hand voices gave me the chills.

Desmond Doane's writing is superb. Humor, description, characterization, plot are seamless. It feels so real, like you are sitting in a booth across from Ford Atticus Ford, listening to his horrific tale of how he pursued an unholy presence in a quest to right a terrible wrong. I wish this was a movie!

The Dark Man shares the best elements of The Conjuring series. Characters I care about in crisis against impossible odds. Mentions of the Bible, using faith as a shield against demonic forces, are written believably and respectfully. That happens too infrequently these days.

Desmond Doane is now on my Favorite Horror Author shelves. The best part for me, this is a series rather than a standalone. I'm buying the boxset of Graveyard Classified and am creating a collection for the author on my Paperwhite. Please continue to release the rest of the trilogy in audio!

This book captured my attention from the beginning and never lost it. Definitely looking or waiting for book 2.

This book felt like a long episode of the No Sleep Podcast, which I liked. It wasn’t too long and was entertaining enough to make me want to read the next books. I have soo many questions from the story that may be answered later. But overall this book made me want to listen to the end AND listen to more.

Wasn't bad and was just getting into the story and then it just ended! I couldn't believe it just stopped and now to even get any kind of resolution to the story I have to get the next book... NOPE! I won't spend 3 credits just have one book!

It just ended!

about chapter 10, give or take a chapter, the book and the narrator really hit their stride. Much like when the lead character gets his grove back, it's really good!

I got spooked, angry, excited, and found myself laughing at some of the comedic parts.

I will be continuing this series.

rough start but hang on it gets good
