If you were the parent of a 25-year-old daughter, who is an unemployed perpetual student and descended upon you with her cat, what would you do?

Rachel and Joe, who retired to a 50-plus condo, must exercise tough love on their only child Angie after she leaves an ashram, searching for her purpose - again. At the insistence of Joe, Angie finds a job at a burger joint on the shores of Daytona Beach.

She is dating Josh, the son of a man living in the condo with connections to gambling. But fruit doesn’t fall far from the tree. After being harassed at work by a man who turns up dead, Angie suspects Josh is the murderer, and she and Rachel begin sleuthing.

Amid threats from Josh’s father and being captive in a sinkhole, Angie realizes her strengths. But can they discover the truth?

Beautifully read about a family coming together and working out problems and misunderstandings of the past and present. This author kept me interested throughout the book with details of each resident in the condominium. Couldn’t wait to listen to the next chapter with total shock surprise of the ending. Happy to know people do the right thing.

Excellent book and easy listening.

This was a simply written cozy mystery and if this is what you’re looking for you may enjoy this book. The narrator does a good job with the story and the pets involved add a cute twist. The books characters seem to fall into someone’s ideal image of a Christian family prescription where fathers daughters and mothers should act in certain ways. This aspect of the story comes out far more in the second book than it did in the first.

A little too sweet and prescriptive for my tastefor my taste
