It has now been several days since the world fell apart in the wake of the zombie apocalypse. Cities and towns have been reclaimed by the dead and survivors find themselves on the run, hunted like animals by the masses of cannibalistic zombies. Garrett Newton successfully led a handful of survivors into the deep reaches of a regional park where they have taken refuge from the more dangerous cities and towns nearby.

Forced to scavenge for needed supplies they soon find themselves facing obstacles and dangers none of them were prepared for. Tough decisions have to be made as the number of sick and injured begins to grow.

Meanwhile, the last remnants of the US military have taken up refuge on the island nation of Cuba. With a handful of dedicated scientists struggling to find a way to fight back against the virus, a bold plan is in the works to return to the infested mainland in a desperate attempt to find a cure.

Great book

The plot was great! I wanted to finish the book as soon as possible. I love it!

excellent zombie story

loved the fact that in this zombie scenario, no one was confused about what a zombie is or how to deal with it.

Terrible vertical voice

The story is good but the virtual voice narration is TERRIBLE!! SO MANY mispronounced words is actually insulting to listen to. Why is it so hard to produce ACCURATELY PRONOUNCED WORDS?? I would have enjoyed this so much more if whoever produced this would have taken more care of PROPER pronunciation!!!!

Crappy narration, great story.

Pretty good. The AI narrator sucks butts, however the story is pretty good. Trying to find the third installment of the series.

Very enjoyable

I enjoyed this book as well as all the four other zombie books by S Ganley. I was also surprised at how good the virtual reader was. Only a few things not pronounced like a human, such as 911, 7-11, Sgt for Sargent ( this was in one of the previous books). Overall though everything, especially the story was captivating and very enjoyable.
