The summer Minna turns 15, her family moves to a new neighborhood to be near her ailing grandmother. There, Minna meets Van and Rebecca, two teens who pull Minna out of her world of books and teach her about friendship, ice skating, and life. But one of them also holds a deep secret.

And then there is the ghost. Minna sees the ghost one night, but is this a ghost at all or someone else in need of help? As Minna learns more about the ghost, deer, and the secret, she is also working through her own grief.

She wants to help them all, and the story comes to a shocking conclusion at the neighborhood park at the end of that summer.
