The Detective takes place from roughly March 2683 to March 2684. Where applicable, the chapters are named to map to the action in The All-Pro (book III in the Galactic Football League series). The story actually begins, however, on unknown dates during book II, The Starter.

In terms of the GFL timeline, The Detective runs from roughly week seven of the 2683 regular season in The Starter through week 10 of the 2684 regular season in The All-Pro.

Good

Out of all the GFL universe books/novellas this has been my least favorite. Thats not to say it isnt still a good and worthwile read/listen. I just wouldnt classify it as a must read. The book follows the character Fred and centers around his work searching for family info on client Quentin Barnes. Its a good and enjoyable short story. Id call it more of an add-on to the All Pro book rather than classify it as its own standalone novella. Again, its a fine addition to the series, but it isnt near the same level as the main series books or even other novellas like Title Fight and The Rider. Theres just so much more in those other titles that this book suffers by comparison. I recommend all GFL books, The Detective included, its just at the bottom of the list for me personally.

Great Book!!

I loved this book. To echo some of the other reviews I thoroughly enjoyed being able to see scenes from other characters POV. Also getting to learn more background about the characters involved in the main series was very enjoyable. I wish it was longer but that is the only negative I have for it.

Space detective story. What more do I have to say?

Yeah it's only 4-5 hours but it's still fun. You don't need to read the main series but it sure dose help. Over all a fun listen and sure to keep you entertained.

Scott Sigler is the best!

I have listened to this audiobook several times and love it more each time. Scott Sigler's reading of his own work is outstanding!

I just love everything in this universe. Fred is such an interesting character. Deep, funny, talented. enjoyed every minute.
