The Iranian effort to develop nuclear weapons was the inspiration for this tale of spies, assassination, skullduggery, military action, and political intrigue.

Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is the Devil's Disciple, and he has a plan. With 12 nuclear warheads mounted on 12 missiles, he will make Iran a martyr nation; then he will lead the world's Muslims in a holy war against Western civilization. It is up to Jake Grafton and Tommy Carmellini to save the world as we know it from the clutches of Islamic fascist fanatics.

As hot as today's headlines, The Disciple is Stephen Coonts at the top of his game. Spies, soldiers, scholars, fighter pilots, patriots, traitors, presidents, and ayatollahs are all here within the pages of The Disciple. Not since Cuba has Coonts written a novel as big and bold as this, a novel that catches the dreams and aspirations of a nation.

Interesting chain of events.

This a spell-binding story, so up-to-date, that you'll believe it is taking place now, 2010. The ending will surprise you and rightly so. You only wish that Stephen Coonts could make real life come to the same conclusion.

Absolutely outstanding story

This book can only loosly be called a Tommy Carmillini novel. Unilke the 3 pervious novels with Tommy, this one Tommy only makes a few token appearences. While the story is well written and the battles interesting, I like novels that also invest in and give lots of text to the lead character. This novel did not do that. And with less Tommy time, there was less humor and what their was, wasn't delivered as well by the reader. Since Liars & Thieves, The Traitor and The Assassin did provide lots of character time I found this novel and Pirate Alley dissappointing.

Fan of Tommy? You will be dissappointed

This is another solid story from Stephen Coonts highlighting the exploits of Jake Grafton and Tommy Carmalini. Of all of the Audible releases so far in this series, this performance has been my least favorite. It's a little stiff.

Another solid story.

This book seems like it was written by both Tom Clancy and Brian Haig lol.
Great book!
