Life hasn’t always been great for Rainn and Gerran, but it couldn’t be much more perfect than it is now. Rainn was happy to move to the remote mountains of Pennsylvania to be with her love, and to satisfy his “other” side. There, they are perfectly content. Only one more thing could make their lives complete.

Gerran is the last of his kind and hopes to create a new life with his human wife. When test after test shows there is no hope, they are both heartbroken. The two are just too different, their systems too incompatible, and there’s no way around it.

Unable to accept why they can’t be given their hearts’ desire, Rainn vows to do whatever it takes to make her husband happy. A deal with an unlikely stranger could be the answer, but it comes with a very steep price.

Is the sacrifice worth the reward? To save his race and bear his child, she will do anything.

Wasn't a fan

I've been loving LM recently but this one isn't high on my list. First the editing of the narrator's recordings had some issues. There were whole sentences that were repeated numerous times. Second the story or should I say the heroine I just wanted to smack. Selfish much? She strikes a deal to have a baby, then has the baby and doesn't like the consequences, so strikes another bargain. Really? Just really?? Onto the next book...

Mischievous midget.

I played this at 115 percent speed on my audible app as l found it the narration too slow. Otherwise the narration was good with multiple voices and emotions well portrayed. The story was entertaining and sweet with mystery and drama thrown in with some paranormal history.

Reminiscent of a fairy tale

What one woman would give to have her mate's child.
However, feeling as though the result was causing turmoil, without a proper explanation, her partner in turn sought further advise.
The resultant meeting and consequence bargain may amaze some.

Interesting story

This is an interesting story with a tragedy of loss of sight by Raine with the birth of her son as a bargain with the Dream Merchant to allow her to get pregnant. Story does end with HEA.

There are times when Linda repeats phrases during the narration & she constantly has a clicking noise as if she's always licking her lips or popping her lips after swallowing. You can also hear every time she takes a breath. This is not the first of her stories I've listened to, and they all have this same thing when she's narrating her own stories. That is distracting to me, and even tho I do find her stories interesting, I do not like her narration. Her narrations are enough to make me not want to listen to any of her other audiobooks.
