Letty Fordyce knows three things about her future husband: Lord Morrey is a dangerous man. He frightens her. She desires him.

Adam Beaumont, the Earl of Morrey, is full of dark secrets. His brooding and mysterious allure draws women to him like moths to a flame. But he fears he can never marry, not when his secret life is full of constant dangers.

Letty Fordyce doesn't want to be like other women, she wants a life for herself and a happy marriage to a respectable man, not someone with secrets and a life full of danger like Lord Morrey. Yet from the moment she meets him, she can't think of anyone else.

When a night of terror sends her into Adam's arms, she'll be forced to choose between the life she thought she wanted and the man she's falling in love with.

Contains mature themes.

I really enjoyed this last installment even though I kind of figured out that John was not dead. There are still so many stories to be told in this series and I REALLY hope that you bring them to life. I would like to hear Caroline's & Ashton's stories, Portia has a story and a couple others that I can't remember. Also did I miss what happened to Edward? I remember he was shot in the shoulder but I didn't recall him being mentioned again. Hoping you give us more from all of them. This series is one of my favorites ❤ I will be reading the entire series again.

The only negative is how sadness mars the HEA so deeply that it disturbed me. Two side threads/character stories end so sadly that it detracted.

[SPOILER] Where does Caroline's traumatized bitterness become a HEA? She deserved it. Instead, she gives up her dreams of love & children. The H/h lament they are changed into bitter versions of their former selves. And the league leader whose entire team is murdered leaves haunted and vengeful with missing leaks & no trust. Where is his HEA? The latter two are said to remain "frozen forever." WTH? Too sad. Unfulfilled endings & marred HEA meant no reader satisfaction. That should've been rewritten.

This is probably one of the sweeter books of the series. Usually I'm done with a series by the 5th or so novel. This is 13? I skipped two...and returned a couple, but 8 are hits so far. Awesome in my opinion. I am glad this story was narrated by Heather Wilds unlike the other book with James and Gillian. She's one of my favorite narrators.

I really enjoyed this book. I loved they made a promise of trust and openness in their marriage from the beginning, and it didn't change. They trusted each other, and didn't hide anything from each other. He even listened to advice on how not to alienate his wife. Wow! It was refreshing the story was about how their relationship grew and the mystery.
The big problem I had...more annoying than anything else...he told way too many people he was a spy.
I did get a kick out of how he caught her twice, thinking she was a spy..."Not again." lol
Kudos to having Gillian in the story.
Poor Caroline needs a hug...and maybe Avery??
Will they get a book? Will Aiden be next? Rafe? So many possibilities!!

Both are in the Shadows Together
