Upping the scoundrel factor, with more quips, banter, and humor between the MCs, including the MCs from the previous books, helped to elevate this. Additionally, this book is the shortest of the series, easing up on the angsty inner monologues and focusing instead on action and heist-style adventure.

Qaelen and Cami were my favorite romantic pair thus far, thanks to their frisky, anything but missionary flirting. And, here’s where listening to the series in order pays off as the invasion arc finally starts coming together heading into the final book.
