Joseph O'Malley, a former beat cop in Boston, Massachusetts, always knew he was destined for something more. Leaving the force behind, he joined the priesthood and became the head pastor of St. Mary's Parish in Mound Bayou, Mississippi. His faith and guidance made him a pillar of the community, but when Madeline Dupre comes to him with a new problem, Joseph's world is turned upside down.

Madeline's mother, Eleanor, is possessed by an unknown force, and Joseph must figure out how to exorcise it. As he delves deeper, he uncovers a much more sinister problem plaguing Mound Bayou. With the fate of the small Mississippi town resting on his shoulders, Joseph must rely on his faith and his own strength to save the community he has grown to love.

Will Joseph's faith be enough to overcome the evil that has taken hold of Mound Bayou, or will he fall victim to the darkness himself? The clock is ticking, and the fate of the town hangs in the balance.
