The Fairy's Tale is the first novel in The Pathways Tree series.

With surprising plot twists and compelling characters, The Fairy’s Tale is a whirlwind adventure into the sinister world behind classic folk tales and myths.

Bea is a lowly cabbage fairy, but she dreams of being an official Fairy Godmother. So when she is finally given a chance to prove her worth, Bea is determined to make a success of it. Besides, how hard can a Happy Ever After story be? Every girl wants to be rescued by a handsome man, don’t they? Apparently not.

Bea's heroine doesn't want to be in her story, and her hero is much more interested in the ugly sister. The same ugly sister who is trying to overthrow the Kingdom. Suddenly, Bea must confront the fact that her characters are as real as she is - and just like her, they are determined to go their own way. The problem is, if Bea fails to finish the story, she faces a fate much worse than being put to sleep for a hundred years.

I liked the book. I just wish there were English captions to really emerge self in reading. I am happy it didn’t go over fairy tales as predicted

I am a sucker for the subverted fairytale, I admit. I love this. It's got fun characters and odd twists and a rich well crafted world.

A lot of funand not everything I expected

This was such a cute fantasy book with great characters and fairy tale spinning. I love how detailed each part of the story, the plot twists, and each land is in the story. When authors bring that type of detail into play you really get a sense of how well a series is going to work out.

There is no spice or romance in this book. Which does go against current day societal expectations and it was truly a breath of fresh air for me. Saying this and knowing that there are some fairytale spinning offs going on in this book you will not be disappointed with what happens, how it happens and who you get introduced to.

Each character was well thought out and I’m pleased to see that this is a series as at first I didn’t know that. (Listened via Audible). Even though the main character is female I can see my teenage boys getting into this series because it’s fair mix of Grimm’s Fairytales and Hans Christian Anderson’s Fairytales. Remove any and all Disney fairytale lore you have in your head as that isn’t in this book at all!

Clever writing for a fun filled book
