In Pete's Bar in the Bowery in New York, Pete tells some newspaper friends the story of Morgan the Fearless, a notorious desperado in the West. Ben Murphy is a very good narrator. Second only to Cat Parker and Slate Peters for western books. This is a good classic Max Brand. For me, Brand either makes a masterpiece or a total dud. This is a close to a masterpiece.
