The Fire is book two in Rick Fuller's Manchester Trilogy.
Rick Fuller, a once decorated SAS hero, now Manchester hit-man, likes nothing better than disposing of his employer's rivals in return for a suitcase of cash. His spectacular fall from grace, and obsession to discover the identity of the IRA terrorist who gunned down his wife, all but destroyed him.
Ten years have passed since that fateful day, and Ireland has seen many changes. The man who slaughtered Cathy Fuller on her doorstep in Hereford in 1996 is now the First Minister of the Province, but Fuller is more determined than ever to get his revenge.

Continue the series
What I appreciate most about the writing is distinct differentiation from so many of the Usual Suspects in this genre which slew heavily formulaic , rendering any number of books in a series so much like all others it’s nigh on impossible to distinguish one from the next.
The second most highly appreciated aspect of the Rick Fuller novels is the performance. Voice actor is in a category of their own: God-like power over pace inflection, accents, character accessibility. To say the performance is enjoyable and/or brings the characters to life, unfolds the story with realism necessary to intoxicate the listener
It boggles my mind there are so few reviews of these books, given the popularity of Hurwitz, Slater, Child (Lee not Andrew), Patterson, Ludlum, Greaney, Thor and Sanford, and fact the Rick Fuller series meets or beats the finest aspects of works from those authors while kicking the action , fashion ,cars, locations, and dials character quirks / superpowers up to 11.
Binge - worthy? Yes, please.
