In the ice mines of the demon's prospect, Zack Maecker has toiled his entire life as a slave. The hope of of taking his best friend Yemiri away from the frigid Astorian snow to the mythical Farland is only a dream. Until one day, he stumbles upon a legendary Tesseract, the magical item that bestows him the opportunity to be an elementalist. But rather than choose the normal elements of the world like fire, ice, or wind, Zack chooses flesh. But like all forms of power, it comes at a cost.

Follow Zack Maecker as he grows into his powers as the world's first flesh elementalist so he might finally gain the freedom he has desired for so long, even if he has to take it by force.

I liked this book more than I expected, the audio recording wasn't the next but it could have just been my file.

Really Flesh Elementalist? Ok the book started off a little standard but because I really like Outspan’s writing I continued and while I write this for all to see - I don’t always write a review. Honestly I rate the book 5/5 for story and overall subject, flesh Elementalist really? LOL, but 4.5 for narration not so much on J.D.’s style but because the producer allowed the recording to be produced in a 55 gallon rain bucket. It’s worth the read and listen!! I was surprised!

Ok I was skeptical

..... being dumb doesn't mean you have to be so boring. This story could have offset his slowness with humor. Also the flesh powers would have been excellent for jokes! I'm curious about book 2 but it's 2022 and no audible copy out 😔

🤔 Main Character admits he's slow but...

To be clear the author is EXTREMELY clear that he wrote the entire novel in a week and that it could use some work. Knowing that going into this book is important. Given those limitations this book is quite interesting Some portion feel dragged out while others feel rushed but the overarching tale is there and an interesting one. It honestly would probably would have received a better rating if the narration was better. The narrator was not bad but he does not have the range that is needed and the recording itself has that empty room echo sound to it. This combined with the quickly written story resulted in only three stars. IF the author takes his time on a work I think it could come out really nicely and I think the narrator need some pointers on how to have a proper setup.

Overall I would say it is a decent listen and worth giving a shot.

An interesting premise, but not flushed out
