Editorial reviews

Hans Christian Andersen’s quirky 1839 fairy tale traces the adventures of an irresponsible son of a wealthy Danish merchant who fritters away his sizable inheritance and embarks on a fantastical journey inside of a magical trunk that flies him across the continent and into to the welcoming arms of a ravishing woman who happens to be the daughter of a Turkish sultan.

Paul Rew’s loose, playful performance enlivens the proceedings, particularly his appropriately cartoonish delivery of a whimsical story the young man relays to the Sultan in order to secure the Princess' hand in marriage.
