The Four of Us

Fred Brown grew up a country boy learning life lessons from his single mother and grandpa. He was just a farm kid who avoided the town and city kids, and embraced the country boy lifestyle. Fred used the local vocational school to learn skills as a welder and began working for a metal fabrication shop as soon as he graduated from high school. After encouraging his mom to start dating again, both Fred and his mom meet their life partners, and the four of them band together to expand the family excavating business owned by the father and daughter team they were about to marry. Together, the four of them take advantage of the fiber optic cable boom and make their fortunes while working long tiring days. Having been bitten by the prepper bug years earlier, they were ready for Y2K which turned out to be a bust. After welcoming twins into the world, Fred and his wife Heather raise their kids much like they had been raised opting for the simple country life. Years later, they get the news that they have been dreading ever since becoming preppers when NASA announces a near miss by a near earth object. The asteroid comes close enough to wreak havoc across the Unites States triggering major earthquakes in the process. Together, the group manages to survive with little disruption to their lives until a rogue group of bikers try to take over their farm. Their extensive preparations are put to use as the small group of like minded people strive to survive.
