Whether or not you're an existing fan of Tolkien's published works, this deep and dense coverage of the stories' early histories, many attempted adaptations, and the resulting impacts across multiple international industries will capture your attention and offer your brain an enormous amount of knowledge about the inner workings and deals that allow franchises such as LOTR to achieve worldwide success. Narration by The Voice of Nick is an absolute pleasure to listen to. Although originally published in 2007, and containing some info that would be considered dated today, there is a new closing chapter to fill in some noticeable gaps.
