Trees produce fruit. Flowering plants produce blossoms. Businesses produce income. Universities produce educated graduates. Marriages produce children. Religions produce followers. Christians produce . . . what? Have you stopped to consider what the true Christian life ought to produce? We have a vague intuition that a Christian should be a certain way; or put another way, his life should be producing a certain set of qualities. The Apostle Paul, in Galatians 5:22-23, divulges nine attributes or qualities that ought to be present and abounding in a Christian’s life. However, he goes out of his way to make it clear that these qualities are not manufactured merely by human willpower and determination. Rather, he calls them the “Fruit of the Spirit,” hinting to us that just as an apple tree produces apples, a human can only produce what is humanly possible. Thus, we must come to understand that though man’s nature can only produce failure and unrighteousness, Christ desires to impart His nature unto the believing soul in order to produce His fruit in that life. The Fruitful Christian Life is a collection of eleven pithy meditations on how grand and glorious it is when Christ produces His holy nature in a sinful man and thereby makes that man a picture of Himself. This book is for the soul that is hungry to have the fruit of Christ’s nature produced in his own life, family, work, and ministry. About the Author: Ben Zornes is a Christian, husband, father, preacher, author, songwriter, musician, and lemonade connoisseur (pretty much in that order). Ben has been in Christian ministry for the past decade, serving in a variety of ministry roles, and has rather enjoyed getting the opportunity to travel far and wide preaching the Gospel and teaching on worship, prayer, Christian History, and godly masculinity. Ben desires to encourage the formation of genuine holiness within the Body of Christ at large. He aims to do this by writing a lot, reading a lot, playing hide-and-go-seek with his one-year-old daughter a lot, kissing his wife a lot, strumming a guitar a lot, and talking about Jesus a lot.
