Absolutely WORTH it!

In June of this year, after listening to this book, The Future of Leadership: Elevate Your Influence, I was overcome with emotion. This story moved me to tears in the parking lot of my gym after finishing the book during my workout. It felt like it was talking directly to me. My situation. My soul. It hit home in ways nothing had done before, shaking me to my core. It provided the clarity I was struggling to find.

The Future of Leadership" by Joshua Medcalf is a thought-provoking exploration of what it means to lead in today's rapidly changing world. Medcalf challenges traditional leadership models, emphasizing the importance of authenticity, vulnerability, and service to others. His insights are backed by compelling stories that illustrate the transformative power of this new approach. I was particularly moved by his discussions on leading with love and the courage it takes to break away from conventional norms. He message pushed me to reflect on my own leadership style and consider how I can better support and inspire those around me. For leaders at any level seeking to make a meaningful impact, this book is a must-listen. Absolutely WORTH it!

Dead on accurate

After reading Chop Wood and Pound the Stone I am again compelled to express appreciation for the lessons and the fresh point of view. I can not wait to get home and shut my cell phone off.

Bridging the gap

I’m a big fan of Joshua Medcalf books and how he delivers information through stories. This book helped bridge some gaps for me between where I struggle with the leadership above me and how I feel called to lead my team differently. It also helped spark ideas of how to move forward in that and empower my people as we forge a new path together!

I wanted more

I was genuinely excited about the idea of Transformational Leadership and what this book could offer. The concepts and overall premise are ones I really appreciate, and I especially liked that the author chose to share these lessons through an allegory rather than a traditional “how-to” format.

That said, I found myself a bit confused at times because the narrative jumps around in the timeline of the story. This made it difficult to stay fully engaged and follow the development of the ideas.

Respectfully, it’s okay. The message and intentions are strong, even if the storytelling made it a challenge to connect with fully. At the same time, I would be hard pressed to recommend this book.
