The crime scene is eerily similar to the creepy legend, convincing Holly that the death wasn't just accidental. Now she'll have to race to catch a flesh-and-blood killer before someone else in town gives up the ghost.

Enjoy the series

I really like this series and the performance is good but not great. There are too many times she mispronounces words (like hearth- said as Hurth) and then says them right but only once or twice before going back to saying them wrong. It makes no sense. Still the story is great and I enjoy visiting wagtail.

I was drawn into the story

I loved the plot & the narrator made me a part of of the storyline. Great mystery and a whodunnit kept me guessing til the end.

The more I visit Wagtail and the Sugar Maple Inn, the more I want them to be real. Great story, great setting, great characters, great narration......Love this series,

Sure wish Wagtail were a real place

This series is a light read, intriguing, and entertaining. The characters are not simple, nor are they overly complex. The mysteries are just intriguing enough to keep me wanting more. Sometimes Holly does not pick up on the simplest clues, but it makes her more believable. The narrator adds to the characters personalities as well, giving Oma, (the grandmother) a delightful German accent (reminiscent of my own German grandmother). There is a bit of romance included, also. The town of Wagtail and the descriptions of the mountain community, and old historic hotel has a permanent spot in my dreamworld. I wish it were a real place, where the pets are given some attention, rather than viewed as nuisances.
