A Heart of Gold. A Mountain of Stone. A Fire That Wakes the World.

In the quiet village of Oakhaven, ten-year-old Sophia always felt a little different. While others shivered in the biting mountain winds, she felt a strange, humming warmth deep within her chest. But when that warmth turns into a golden glow that can melt snow with a touch and command the very embers of a forge, Sophia realizes she isn’t just a village girl she is the keeper of a Dragon’s Heart.

As the Great Cold threatens to bury her home in eternal winter, Sophia must leave everything she knows to journey into the treacherous Smoky Peaks. Guided by a mysterious blacksmith, a boy made of cinders, and a tiny spark of living flame, she must find the ancient, stone-turned dragons of Eldoria.

But waking a dragon takes more than just heat; it takes the kind of bravery that only a girl like Sophia can find. From sneezing accidental fireworks to soaring on wings of pure light, Sophia’s journey is a magical tale of discovering that the greatest power isn’t the fire we build, but the warmth we share.

I love this book for young readers! Sophia is a young girl with a special gift that brings comfort to others around her, and I love how the author shows this in such a beautiful and ethereal way. Showing young readers can also be brave and make a difference. The narration is so fun and engaging and doesn’t skip a beat with the versatility in the many fun characters throughout this book. Overall narration is friendly, and addictive- I could listen to that voice over and over!
