Corporations and their boards are under growing attack for many reasons. Governance issues are front and center, yet there is little understanding of what directors and boards actually do, even among directors themselves.

In this audiobook, the cloistered world of the boardroom is demystified, brought into the sunlight and explained, with respect and compassion. Read by the author, this audiobook provides information, history, and context essential to anyone seeking to understand how corporations and their stewards - the board of directors - can and should function. Directors, aspiring directors, investors, and students of corporate behavior will all enjoy this lively description.

It may be a good book. But it’s annoying to listen que author’s nose and breathing noises all the time. This proves that authors should never read their books. Avoid at all cost. After an hour I had to stop, the noises distract your attention.

It’s annoying, but the book.

Stellar insights by an amazing and experienced board member. Cool to be able to hear it narrated directly by the author herself.

Absolutely fantastic

This book provides a fascinating evolution of corporations and boards. The author and narrator has a pleasant voice, but it sounds like this was recorded on a low-budget mic in a less-than-soundproof room. There are also a number of instances where she stumbles over her words a bit but didn't bother with re-takes.

Would love to see this professionally recorded and marketed.

Great Content, Poor Recording Quality

I’m not sure where the revolution is. It most definitely not in this book. It was a dry history of governance peppered with antidotes from the authors career that were only loosely relevant. Listening to it once would be bad enough but the audio edit is so bad you get to listen to most of it twice along with some lovely audio background of traffic and white noise.

Don’t bother
