Welcome to Inverblaggard—where the goats are judgmental, the scones are strategic, and Christmas refuses to behave.

Fergus MacFaddle was never meant to be the spirit of the season. Gruff, stubborn, and allergic to joy, he’s spent decades enforcing laws against smiling near livestock and renaming holidays out of spite. But when an old flame returns, a goat gains political power, and a small bonnet sparks village-wide chaos, even the Grump of Christmas must reconsider what it means to belong.

From accidental festivals to caroling disasters, The Grump of Christmas is a heartwarming Highland comedy about love, legacy, and the kind of miracles only a determined community (and one very expressive goat) can deliver.

Packed with wit, warmth, and wool, this festive tale proves that even the coldest hearts can thaw—with enough tea, tartan, and second chances.

Being but an unrepentant teetotaler meself, this wee laddie got more than a bit giddy on the bittersweet Scottish spirits of Angus the Crag, Fergus the Grump - the Laird of Inverblaggard, and Jennie the contemplative goat.
Not to be pigeonholed as a seasonal Christmas sgeul, this kilted yarn shares successive Scottish celebrations of year-end Hogmanay and their associated chickens to form the bookends to a hilarious collection of tales from an angsty year of romance in the hegemonious shadow of The Grump Keep.
If you are at all familiar with narrator Phil Deadman, then you will appreciate that you are in for a treat whenever you join this Scottish ceilidh at the proverbial Brig o' Doon (but that's another story...). If you are not, then your grumpness is not at all to be unexpected.

It was gratifying to see Fergus change by the end of thebtale. The characters were engaging and entertaining. I would recommend this product. I think listened to a free copy of this and am giving an honest review. The narrator did a great job bringing it to life.
